eGtran Corp acquires EZconn and GTRAN

2006.09.29

eGtran Corporation (the "Company") is pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of the Taiwan-based EZconn Corp. and the California-based GTRAN, Inc.  The significance of this transaction is that it will enable the Company, after integrating the resources of both subsidiaries, to provide ever more comprehensive services to its customers.  The Company does not expect any major organizational changes or alter its management philosophy.
EZconn was founded in 1971 and has established enormous capabilities for cost-effective high-volume RF and optical components manufacturing.  EZconn operates in Taiwan, China, the Czech Republic, and Germany.  GTRAN was founded in 1999 in Southern California and has developed and marketed high-speed and high-performance optical networking modules and components, particularly in the 10G optical transponder and transceiver space.  It operates both in Newbury Park (California) and Beijing (China).

Mr. Cheng-Shun Lan, a founder and chairman of EZconn, and Dr. Frank S. Lee, a founder and CEO of GTRAN, are expected to become Chairman and President of the Company, respectively.  eGtran's management team stated "EZconn and GTRAN are highly complementary companies.  We have worked together commercially for the past years and it became obvious that we could, through this transaction, achieve major business synergies in the global market to not only better serve but also create more opportunities for our customers".
